1997 Brickyard 400 Ricky Rudd Signed Original Ron Burton Artwork
Original artwork from Indianapolis motorsports artist Ron Burton.
Ron was a regular face around the race tracks of the USA and befriended many drivers and race dignitaries over the years. As a result his works hang in many of their homes and offices.
This large (5ft x 4ft) abstract style oil-on-canvas image depicts Ricky Rudd’s victory at the then titled NASCAR Winston Cup Series 1997 Brickyard 400. Held at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway, Rudd drove a Ford for his own Rudd Performance Motorsports team. The team tactics saw Rudd drive the final 46 laps without taking a pit stop, while others did, and he would eventually take the victory as a result. The image shows Rudd and second place finisher Bobby Labonte battling for the lead over the final laps, crossing the famed ‘Yard of Bricks’ at the finish. Also depicted is the Indianapolis Motor Speedway’s Winged Wheel logo in the background.
The image is signed and dated by Ron Burton and comes framed in a black gloss metal frame. It has also been signed by Ricky Rudd and comes with a Certificate Of Authenticity.
