2018 Charles Leclerc Original Abu Dhabi Worn Scuderia Ferrari Bell HP-7 RC F1 Helmet
Bell HP-7 RC F1 helmet worn by Charles Leclerc during 2018 end-of-season in Abu Dhabi for Scuderia Ferrari.
Charles Leclerc is a driver currently racing in Formula One under the Monégasque flag. Leclerc had previously won the GP3 Series Championship in 2016 and the FIA Formula 2 Championship in 2017. Leclerc made his Formula One debut in 2018 for Sauber, a team affiliated with Ferrari, for which he was part of the Ferrari Driver Academy. With Sauber having finished last the year before, Leclerc led the charge to improve the finishing position in the Constructors’ Championship to eighth, being the higher ranked of the two Sauber drivers.
Starting from 2019 and contracted until the end of the 2024 season, Leclerc became the second-youngest driver to qualify on pole position in Formula One at the 2019 Bahrain Grand Prix. The 2019 season also saw Leclerc take his first career win in Belgium at the Spa-Francorchamps circuit, followed by winning his first Italian Grand Prix as a Ferrari driver the week after to the absolute delight of the ‘tifosi’. He won the Pole Trophy in the 2019 season becoming the youngest driver ever to do so, and the first non-Mercedes driver to win it since the trophy’s inception in 2014.
Scuderia Ferrari signed Leclerc to replace 2007 World Champion Kimi Räikkönen, who in turn took his place at Sauber (now Alfa Romeo). While initially only announced for 2019, a few days later, then-Ferrari team principal Maurizio Arrivabene indicated that Leclerc’s contract was going to be four seasons long, running “at least until 2022”. Leclerc made his first test day as an official Ferrari race driver in November 2018 during the end of season testing in Abu Dhabi. And this is the very helmet he used during testing!!
This spectacular Bell HP-7 RC helmet is hand-painted by BS Designs in the iconic Ferrari Red color, with white and black panels. The top of the helmet has the colors of the flag of Monaco with #JB17 on either side in honor of the late Jules Bianchi, Leclerc’s Godfather. Below this, in a white band circling the helmet, are the branding logos for Kaspersky Lab, Mission Winnow and Riva. Leclerc’s #16 is painted on either side of the helmet, with the Bell Helmets and Prancing Horse logos on the back of the helmet, with Charles Leclerc’s initials below this. The sun strip on the visor has Hublot and Ray Ban branding logos on it, with the Shell V-Power and VistaJet branding logos on the chin. The helmet has been photo matched to the Abu-Dhabi test sessions and is the very first original helmet from Leclerc that we have had in stock.
