2008 Lewis Hamilton 1st World Championship Used McLaren Mercedes F1 Suit
Sparco race suit worn by Lewis Hamilton during his first Championship-winning season in 2008, while driving for the Vodafone McLaren Mercedes team.
After an impressive first season in F1, Hamilton’s success continued in 2008 as he amassed five victories and ten podium finishes. As the season reached its conclusion in Brazil, it became a clear two-way fight for the title between home favourite Felipe Massa and the young Briton. Hamilton would win his first title in dramatic fashion in the last race of the season, the 2008 Brazilian Grand Prix, overtaking Timo Glock for fifth position in the final corners of the last lap to become the then-youngest Formula One World Champion in history and to deny race-winner Massa the title by one point. This made Hamilton the first British driver to win the World Championship since Damon Hill in 1996.
This iconic suit is unmistakable with the Vodafone, Santander, Mercedes and Boss branding logos splashed across the front of it. When you unzip the suit you will see LH-003-08-D embroidered on the inside of the zipper, denoting this as being one of Hamilton’s race suits in 2008.
The suit comes with a Certificate Of Authenticity.
