2008 Dan Wheldon Signed (with team mate Dixon) Race Used Chip Ganassi Racing IndyCar Nomex
Rare, one-of-a-kind, race-used Nomex worn by Dan Wheldon while driving for Chip Ganassi Racing in the 2008 IZOD IndyCar Series. During the 2008 season Wheldon would finish in 1st place twice (Iowa and Kansas) as well as scoring two other podium finishes, to finish 4th in the overall drivers’ standing that year..
Wheldon was given the nickname ‘Lionheart’ by a go-kart mechanic after he was said to be driving with the “heart of a lion”.
Dan Wheldon was a British IndyCar driver who won the 2005 IndyCar Series Championship as well as the 2006 Rolex 24. He was a two-time Indianapolis 500 winner (2005 and 2011) and won a total of 16 IndyCar races. He tragically lost his life in 2011 after a crash at the Las Vegas Speedway.
The Nomex is signed by both Wheldon and then team mate Scott Dixon, and comes with a Certificate Of Authenticity.
