2002 Kimi Räikkönen Signed Race Used McLaren Mercedes F1 Gloves
Pair of Sparco gloves race-worn by the 2007 Formula 1 World Champion Kimi Räikkönen in his first season while driving for the West McLaren Mercedes team in 2002. After an impressive debut F1 season driving for Red Bull Sauber Petronas, McLaren was advised by their retiring double world champion driver, mentor, and fellow Finn Mika Häkkinen to employ Räikkönen. Unfortunately due to the many mechanical issues with the McLaren MP4-17 car, Räikkönen could only complete in seven races of the seventeen event schedule. Even so, he had four podium finishes and two other points-scoring positions to see him take sixth in the drivers’ standings.
These well worn black gloves would have been used in many of the races throughout the 2002 season. They have white leather protection panels over the knuckles. The inner palms and fingers also have white leather protection on them and there are Sparco branding labels on both cuffs.
Kimi Räikkönen has personally signed both gloves on the knuckle protection panels in black marker pen, and they come with a full Certificate Of Authenticity.
