2000 Jenson Button Signed Race Used Canadian/Hungarian GP Williams BMW Bell F1 Helmet

Jenson Button’s race-used Bell helmet worn in 2000 while driving for the Williams BMW team during his first season in Formula One. The helmet was used by the British driver and confirmed by him as being the one worn at the Canadian Grand Prix. He also informed us that the helmet saw action at various other GPs during the season (photo-matched as used at Hungarian GP, see pictures). Button would have a solid ‘Rookie’ season, including a sixth-place finish at the second round in Brazil which made him, at the time, the youngest driver in history to score a championship point. He managed to finish in points-scoring positions six times during the year which saw him finishing twelfth in the championship. Button would go on to have an incredible F1 career with over 300 GP starts, 50 podiums, 15 Grand Prix victories, and the 2009 F1 World Championship.

The helmet has Button’s iconic design which incorporates his home nation’s red, white and blue colors, with the patriotic Union Jack flag on the back and his ‘JB’ initials on both sides. In the white band that encircles the top of the helmet we find major team sponsors Compaq’s and Nortel’s lettering and branding logos within it. Other sponsorship branding logos from Andersen Consulting and Castrol have also been added to the cheek and temple areas respectively. Team engine supplier BMW’s emblem is on the front of its blue crown and the dark-tinted visor bears a Compaq/BR sun strip. The helmet comes as last used complete with the stone chips to the helmet, as well as the drinks tube still attached. The helmet has I.D. numbers on the back which read 2000 /09 (year and helmet #).

The helmet is personally signed and race documented by Jenson Button and comes with a full Certificate of Authenticity.
