1995 Michael Schumacher/Jean Alesi/ Gerhard Berger Signed Race Used Ferrari F412 T2 F1 Steering Wheel

Race-used steering wheel from the V12-powered Ferrari F412 T2 used during the 1995 Formula One season. This butterfly design wheel was used at specific races during the season.

The Ferrari 412 T2 was the car with which Ferrari competed in the 1995 Formula One World Championship. Designed by John Barnard and Gustav Brunner at Shalford in the United Kingdom, the car was launched at Maranello on the 6th of February, 1995. Driven by Jean Alesi and Gerhard Berger, Ferrari would claim 3rd place in the overall World Constructors Championship. Alesi would famously notch his one-and-only F1 win at the 1995 Canadian Grand Prix held at the famous Citcuit Gilles Villeneuve in Montreal. This race would also mark the last time to date that a Grand Prix was won by a car with a V12 engine.

After Alesi crossed the finished line, race fans broke through the fences and charged the pit area. Race officials put out the black flag, effectively requiring all drivers to immediately stop on the track. However, Alesi was now entering the hairpin at the far end of the circuit on his victory lap. Running out of fuel, he removed the steering wheel, stood on top of the car and “surfed” it to a stop. Schumacher, approaching from behind, famously stopped and gave Alesi a lift back to the pits on top of his car.

Also, that Sunday evening, the first rumors started circulating that Michael Schumacher had signed a multimillion-dollar contract with Ferrari for the 1996 season. And the rest, as they say, is history.

The steering wheel is signed by Jean Alesi, Gerhard Berger and Michael Schumacher. The wheel is beautifully display on a black acrylic stand finished off with a Ferrari shield and laser cut F412T2 lettering,  a Certificate Of Authenticity is included.
