1996 Billy Puterbaugh Jr. Race Used Sprint Car Helmet
Race worn Bell helmet worn by Sprint Car driver Billy Puterbaugh Jr early in his career during 1996. He can be seen wearing this helmet in his first win at the Red Hill Raceway. He is also the son of veteran Sprint and IndyCar driver Bill Puterbaugh Senior.
This helmet shows all the adversity of driving a Dirt Track Sprint car. The paintwork to the front of the helmet has suffered from constant battering of shale and mud from the dirt tracks of the Mid West. Painted by Bullseye Designs, its blue and white graphics are divided up by orange bands that crisscross around the helmet. Puterbaugh Jr’s name is to the side at the top of the helmet in black, gold and white. There is a piece of red duct tape attached to the chin, placed there to vent the visor. The helmet also still has it USAC sticker intact to the back of the helmet.
