1996 Billy Puterbaugh Jr. Race Used Sprint Car Helmet
Race-used Bell helmet worn by Sprint Car driver Billy Puterbaugh Jr. early in his career during the 1996 season. He can be seen wearing this helmet in his first win at the Red Hill Raceway. He is also the son of veteran Sprint and IndyCar driver Bill Puterbaugh Senior.
This helmet shows all the signs of the adversity of driving a Dirt Track Sprint car. The paintwork on the front of the helmet has suffered from the constant battering of shale and mud from the dirt tracks of the Mid West. Painted by Bullseye Designs, its blue and white graphics are divided by orange bands that crisscross around the helmet. Puterbaugh Jr’s name is on the side at the top of the helmet in black, gold and white. There is a piece of red duct tape attached to the chin, placed there to help vent the visor. The helmet also still has its USAC sticker intact on the back of the helmet.
The helmet comes with a Certificate Of Authenticity.
