1989 Tony George Signed AJ Foyt Racing America Racing Series Helmet
Tony George race worn helmet from the 1989 American Racing Series Championship. George would go on to score 5 top ten finishes in the 12 race series.
George was widely recognized for his achievements outside of the car as former Chairman of the Indianapolis Motor Speedway from 1989 -2009. He also founded the Indy Racing League and co-owned Vision Racing. He was instrumental in making IMS more than a one race venue, bringing NASCAR to the track, as well the IROC series, Formula 1 from 2000-2007 with a new road course built inside the oval as well, as bringing in MotoGP in 2008.
George has signed the helmet in black marker.
