1987 Nelson Piquet Race Worn Williams Formula 1 Balaclava
This DMC Nomex fire-resistant race balaclava was used by three times F1 World Champion Nelson Piquet during his charge to capturing the 1987 Formula One World Championship.
Unlike today the 80’s era racing drivers often used their equipment for more than one race. This balaclava shows heavy use and it is most probable that Piquet wore this one more than once. What is known is that it was worn by Piquet during his third race win of the 1987 season driving a Honda powered Williams FW11B at the Italian Grand Prix. Piquet had personally signed, dated and more significantly race documented the balaclava with “Monza 87”.
The balaclava comes with a full Certificate of Authenticity.
