1974 Johnny Rutherford Signed Race Used Hogan Racing F5000 Suit
Suit worn by IndyCar racing legend Johnny Rutherford during one of the three F5000 races he competed in during the 1974 season. The three-time Indy 500 Winner and one-time IndyCar Champion used this suit while driving a Carl Hogan owned Chevrolet-powered Lola T330 in the Watkins Glen, Ontario, and Laguna Seca events. Rutherford was invited to drive for Hogan as a result of his recent first win at the Indy 500 only a few weeks earlier. Rutherford driving an unfamiliar car would achieve respectable top-ten finishes in two of the races competing against many of the top drivers of the day, including Mario Andretti, David Hobbs, James Hunt, and Brian Redman.
This grey/black Pro-Tech fire suit has a wide yellow strip down the left side of the torso which has a Hogan Racing emblem patch within it. Further yellow stripes are on the outsides of the arms and legs, with the shoulder pulls also in yellow. On the right side, Rutherford’s name is embroidered on the upper chest, and just below this is a Pro-Tech branding logo patch.
The suit has been personally signed by Johnny Rutherford and comes with a full Certificate Of Authenticity.
