1969 “Dayglo Glory” Mario Andretti Indy 500 Winner Artwork
“Dayglo Glory” is artwork celebrating Mario Andretti’s 50th Anniversary of his 1969 Indianapolis 500 Win. This artwork was put together by young Canadian artist Abriella Sammy. She begins by an painting an abstract ‘marble’ background. She then adds the image of Mario’s race winning STP Brawner Hawk on to the background to give a 3-D effect. Once Abriella has finished all the brush work she covers the full work in resin, giving the whole surface of the work a high gloss finish. The full size of the work is approximately 36 x 24 inches.
This is one of two pieces of Abriella Sammy’s artwork that is presently being displayed in the ‘Mario Andretti Icon’ exhibit at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway Museum.
