1966 Stewart And Clark Indy 500 Original Ron Burton Artwork
Original artwork from famed Indianapolis motor sport artist Ron Burton. The composition is of fellow Scots Jackie Stewart and Jim Clark at the 1966 Indy 500. It was a work in progress that Ron left unfinished. Ron often had many works ongoing at the same time and would sporadically revisit each to add detail. Unfortunately, Ron did not manage to complete this work but we feel it offers an insight into how Ron went about his craft in its unfinished state. This adding to the fact that the piece is a fantastic ‘side on’ image of the legendary drivers in their respective Lola and Lotus Indianapolis race cars. Jimmy finished second in the race and Jackie was named the race’s ‘Rookie of the Year’. The medium Ron used in this unique composition was his chalk crayon on red velvet art paper.
This historical item is more than 50 years old and measures approximately 26 x 20 inches in size.
The artwork comes with a Certificate Of Authenticity.
