1966 Jim Clark Indy 500 Original Ron Burton Artwork
Original artwork from the famed Indianapolis motor sport artist Ron Burton, depicting Jim Clark at the 1966 Indy 500. It was a work in progress that Ron would leave uncompleted. Ron often had many works ongoing at the same time and would sporadically revisit each to add detail. Unfortunately, Ron did not manage to complete it but we feel the work is an insight into how Ron went about his craft. This adding to the fact that the composition is a fantastic ‘head-on’ image of the great Scottish driver in his #19 STP-sponsored Lotus 38. Jimmy would go on to finish second in the race.
The medium Ron used was his unique chalk crayon on grey velvet art paper and measures approximately 26 x 20 inches in size.
The artwork comes with a Certificate of Authenticity.
